What do I get for a session?
2 hours to play and create moments - we can do as many different looks as we can fit in the session.
I find it takes about 30 mins per look.
100+ of the best images as unretouched low res files with aPhotoGroove watermark for displaying on social networking sites.
2 high res retouched and ready to be printed files. (your selects)
(additional photos retouched are $20 a photo)
Can I bring a friend?
Sure! Just make sure they are someone you won’t feel self conscious in front of. Headshot sessions are a lot of fun and sometimes having a good friend with you to ham it up really sets a fun mood - the seesaws in the open air studio also help to set the mood.
What should I wear?
We will have access to so many wonderful backdrops that any solid color top will have the perfect background. What color do you think looks the best on you? What color does your best friend think? your mom? ask around. Nice solid colors work the best. Patterns tent to distract and we want this picture to be about YOU!! There are some great drops for a solid white and solid black shirt. Also think about your look - are you young mom? college student? corporate? hipster? It can be nice to play to the look that you want to be cast in for at least one of your looks.
How many looks will I get?
In two hours we will have plenty of time to shoot 3-4 looks. It generally takes about ½ hour per shoot with 100-200 photos take per look.
How does a session work?
I’ll be ready for your arrival 15 minutes before the scheduled time so feel free to come early :) Once you get here we will take a look at your clothes and pull 5 or 6 tops that can be easily changed in and out off. From there we will head down to the open aired courtyard and begin playing. We could start on the swings or if you really want to jump right into it - the seesaw. We will play in the courtyard for a little while and then really get going when we hit the graffitied back area.
How do I see my photos afterwards?
Within 2 weeks I will post a private gallery on my website of around 100 unretouched files and email you the link. I recommend sharing this link with friends and family but not your agents (yet!). This is your opportunity to yah or nay the initial selects. After the pics have been narrowed down to the best 50, I will do minor edits (contrast/saturation/color balance) if needed and upload those selects into a new album. This is the one to share with your industry friends and agents. Get their opinions on what they think will be the most marketable for them. I’ve found agents and casting directors always have different opinions and sometimes it is a great idea to have a few different looks on hand.
Once we have the favorites selected, I will email you low res copies with my copyright for facebook/myspace and other social networking sites. The two favorite photos will be edited and then you will be provided with a link where you can download the images right to your computer and email them to reproductions (I’ve found they have the fastest turnaround time!) If you would like to have more than 2 photos from the session edited, it will be $20 per photo which will be payable through the website when you go to download the high res retouched file.
I don’t know how to pose!!!
Don’t worry! I do. I’ve spent years in the business and will be able to help you find the perfect position. I’ve been told that as soon as the shoot starts everyone forgets they even have to pose because they stop thinking about that and start having fun. And those are the ‘poses’ that show the true spirit of a person, so you shine from the stack of headshots on the casting directors desk.
Makeup options:
You can either come camera ready (bring some powder for shine and touch ups) or I can assist you in finding a makeup artists - rates varying.
